Topics to be discussed

What will the banking sector look like in ten years? How do we include all people, no matter how wealthy or poor, in the opportunities presented by FinTech? What role can micro-entrepreneurs play? What will the technology of tomorrow look like? How far will Artificial Intelligence replace your job in banking? Why do we need banking and not banks?

These are just a few of the themes to be explored at the Third Annual Middle East and Africa FinTech Forum 2019.

Corporates and entrepreneurs are key to economic growth and banking needs to facilitate sustainable growth and inclusion. Even today, in 2019, not everyone can open a bank account. Financial advice, credit and services are closed to millions. But FinTech is changing everything. Start-ups and innovators across the region are moving rapidly to encourage every member of society to access banking. Traditional financial institutions must adapt. And adapt quickly.

The Forum will offer world-class experts who can lead the debate on how to tackle these complex issues. From Brett King and Anthony Thompson, to Dr. Pippa Malmgren, Henri Arslanian and Ayesha Khanna, our guests will engage in the latest thinking and inform us on how they see the future.

The future is inclusion through innovation.

The Radical Transformation of Banking
Well known FinTech banker and author Brett King takes to the stage to challenge our thinking on disruption and why renewing the existing banking systems is not an option. Brett explores the major disruptors through history, and demonstrates that the old ways of thinking about banking are past, arguing that banking is beyond disruption. Brett also provides his take on the future and foresees the blurring of industry sectors as BigTech offers more and more banking services, and banks offer a much wider range of products and services via open banking.
