Anthony Thomson is not your typical banking executive. A marketer by background, he believes passionately that profit should be the by-product of giving the customer a better product, service or experience. Anthony has developed a flair for disrupting traditional banking systems, founding two banks in the UK, Metro Bank, the UK’s first new bank in 150 years and Atom Bank, the UK’s first bank for mobile. Anthony has raised in excess of $1billion in capital over the course of his career and is a highly respected financial services expert worldwide. Anthony has served as the Goldman Visiting Professor for Innovation and Enterprise at Newcastle Business School and Visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University. He has also co-authored a book, No small change, why financial services needs better marketing and is a member of the Advisory Board of ila Bank Bahrain.

He is also the co-founder and former chairman of the Financial Services Forum, the UK’s leading membership organisation for senior marketers and the former Chairman of the National Skills Academy for Financial Services, the UK’s leading employer-led charity.
