Hari Moorthy is the Global Head of Transaction Banking at Goldman Sachs, where he built the business from the ground up. He first joined Goldman Sachs in 2007 and was global head of the Development Practices Group and chief technology officer of Global Prime Services through 2014. Hari was named technology fellow in 2010 and managing director in 2012. He rejoined the firm as a partner in 2018.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Hari was chief technology officer of trading and counterparty risk at JP Morgan, and subsequently became global head and chief technology officer of banking technology. Prior to originally joining the firm, he was chief architect at CheckFree Investment Services.

Hari serves on the boards of OneGoal New York and Bent On Learning.

Hari earned a BE (Hons) in Engineering and an MSc (Hons) in Mathematics in 1997 from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani, India. He also conducted mathematical research in theoretical computer science and completed a thesis on Godel’s theorems. Hari has received multiple US patents in financial software optimizations, risk and trading algorithms.
